In our travels around the world, we've discovered that AussieMite isn't limited to the breakfast table. Its mellow taste can enrich a variety of dishes. Try adding it to stocks, soups, sauces and dips. It will add depth and colour to casseroles, stir fries, marinades and glazes. It can even compliment desserts!
Whether you’re a notorious sweet-tooth or a devotee of bitter cocoa,
AussieMite will enhance the flavor of your favourite quality chocolate in cakes, brownies, ganaches and biscuits. Try using a fair-trade chocolate for an even better taste.
We think food should be an adventure and we love hearing about new ways of incorporating AussieMite into recipes - from tried and tested favourites with a twist to the latest master chef cuisine.
If you're lucky enough to have a local recycling collection, this is an excellent option that minimises your contribution to landfill. AussieMite jars are also the perfect size for a whole host of secondary uses, which you may like to consider before recycling.
Thoroughly clean an empty jar and use it to house a tea light candle. If you collect several of the same jar, they’ll sit perfectly along a windowsill for evening entertaining. Or scatter amongst various dishes at the dinner table, to enhance food presentation.
Use an AussieMite jar as a measuring cup. To cook rice by the absorption method, measure out one jar of rice to two jars of water. Combine in a saucepan and bring to the boil. Reduce heat to the lowest possible setting, place the lid on the saucepan and turn off completely once the liquid has been completely absorbed (about 15 minutes). Cooking time may vary depending on your stove.
Try filling a cleaned jar with soil and propagate a seedling. The advantage of planting in glass is that you can easily see how advanced a root system has developed before transplanting to a larger pot or directly into your vegetable garden.
An AussieMite jar will also hold a useful quantity of freshly made pesto, salsa or jam in your refrigerator.

Vitamin B is an integral dietary requirement converting carbohydrates into glucose to fuel the body. Crucial for the maintenance of cell metabolism, Vitamin B is good for our sight, skin and hair, as well as being an active contributor to our emotional and mental well-being.
Thiamin (B1) helps us to digest carbohydrates, assisting our body’s conversion of glucose into fuel. Without Thiamin to aid the conversion process, we’d run out of energy.
Riboflavin (B2) helps our bodies in a multitude of ways. Not only does it assist by metabolising fats, carbohydrates and proteins, it enables us to grow both inside and out. Riboflavin plays an active role in the formation of antibodies, red blood cells and cell respiration, also benefiting our sight, skin, hair and nails.
Niacin (B3) is good for our circulatory system as it reduces cholesterol levels in the blood stream and improves circulation. Niacin is also great at assisting our bodies with the formation of hormones, all the while actively contributing to mental health and metabolic functions.
Vitamin B12 plays a vital role in both brain function and our nervous system. The vitamin is involved in cell metabolism, working together with Folic Acid (B9) to form red blood cells and assist in fueling the body.
Folic Acid/Folate (B9) assists our body’s production of the genetic building blocks DNA and RNA. The vitamin is essential for cell and tissue growth, making it a nutritional port of call for pregnant women and infants. Playing an important role in mental and emotional health, Folic Acid assists Vitamin B12 in the formation of red blood cells in our bodies.
AussieMite is Gluten-Free and endorsed by Coeliac Australia.
B12 is an active contributor to our mental well-being, and because the vitamin can scarcely be found in plant derived foods, AussieMite provides an excellent source of B12 for vegetarians and vegans.
