If you're lucky enough to have a local recycling collection, this is an excellent option that minimises your contribution to landfill. AussieMite jars are also the perfect size for a whole host of secondary uses, which you may like to consider before recycling.


  • Aussiemite Recycling Idea #1


    Thoroughly clean an empty jar and use it to house a tea light candle. If you collect several of the same jar, they’ll sit perfectly along a windowsill for evening entertaining. Or scatter amongst various dishes at the dinner table, to enhance food presentation.


  • Aussiemite Recycling Idea #2


    Use an AussieMite jar as a measuring cup. To cook rice by the absorption method, measure out one jar of rice to two jars of water. Combine in a saucepan and bring to the boil. Reduce heat to the lowest possible setting, place the lid on the saucepan and turn off completely once the liquid has been completely absorbed (about 15 minutes). Cooking time may vary depending on your stove.

    Try filling a cleaned jar with soil and propagate a seedling. The advantage of planting in glass is that you can easily see how advanced a root system has developed before transplanting to a larger pot or directly into your vegetable garden.

Vitamin B is an integral dietary requirement converting carbohydrates into glucose to fuel the body. Crucial for the maintenance of cell metabolism, Vitamin B is good for our sight, skin and hair, as well as being an active contributor to our emotional and mental well-being.

Thiamin (B1) helps us to digest carbohydrates, assisting our body’s conversion of glucose into fuel. Without Thiamin to aid the conversion process, we’d run out of energy.

Riboflavin (B2) helps our bodies in a multitude of ways. Not only does it assist by metabolising fats, carbohydrates and proteins, it enables us to grow both inside and out.
